Demoncon is a comic convention that remains true to the comic community.
Held twice a year, come and meet your favourite artists and writers, enjoy Cosplay and browse the stalls.
Demoncon takes place in the Star Arcade in the centre of Maidstone. You’ll discover a warm, friendly con suitable for all ages.
Just been to Demoncon 11 wow what a lovely comic con it is.
The best comic fayre in Kent make sure you’re there for the next one
What exactly is Demoncon?
It’s a small convention, held in Maidstone twice a year for comic enthusiasts. You get to see artists at work and chat to writers mainly from the independent scene.
If your experience of comics is limited to Batman, Spiderman etc than you’re in for a treat. The awesome storylines and just superb artwork makes the independent scene exciting. It’s fresher and braver than main stream comics and graphic novels and is slowly starting to out-sell the main two.
Demoncon isn’t just for comic enthusiasts, it’s for the ‘comic curious’ and for families. You’ll discover something different, something exciting, there’s something for everyone. You can commission a piece of original artwork from one of the artists, chat to authors about how they develop their ideas and storylines, and browse the many different stalls.
Demoncon is the perfect convention because… it’s not vast… there is an opportunity to meet the public, people in costume and writers and creators, have proper conversations and get autographs… rather than being overwhelmed by 10,000 people in a sweaty box.

Cosplay is huge, (for those who don’t know, it’s dressing up) and we welcome Cosplayers to Demoncon, whatever your age. In the past we’ve had Darth Vadar, Steam Punk, the Joker and the odd Dr Who.
The standard of costumes is incredible but it’s actually the interaction between the Cosplayers and visitors that adds to the atmosphere at Demoncon.
Thank you to all the exhibitors and cos players we spoke with today. Especially the London Jawas, who were so patient and friendly with my daughter. You made her first con a memorable one!
Unlike the larger conventions, families and children are welcome at Demoncon. There’s a free goodie bag on the door (while stocks last) and the attitude of the guests make the children feel involved and very much part of the whole event.
There are games demonstrations, where the children can take part and discover the new, non-traditional board games, card games and, of course, Pokemon.
The Cosplayers, on the whole, engage with the children and are normally more than happy to pose for photos.
There may be bigger cons out there but none so friendly and welcoming with loads of heart.
Tickets are £8 for adult, £4 for child or £20 for family (2 adults, 2 children). Early bird tickets are now available!
Had a fantastic time at Demoncon yesterday. Met so many new faces and a few familiar ones too. Thank you everyone for a very splendid day.
